Welcome to the Ohau Conservation Trust

The Ohau Conservation Trust is a group of people with the special natural values of the Mackenzie Basin at heart. We are doing our bit to preserve the iconic tussock grasslands and native flora around Lake Ohau.

Aims of the trust are:

  • To promote awareness of the special values of the high country environment of the Lake Ohau area in South Canterbury and North Otago,
  • To undertake a programme of environmental care and restoration in the area
  • To instruct its members and where possible the public at large in such care and restoration.
